Owners Louise and Steve rear cows and a few pigs and sell tasty burgers and sausages in the site shop. They designed the campsite so its nucleus -the field — is open for kids to play cricket and footie, or just run themselves breathless while their parents relax within eyeshot. The track separating the grassy space from the pitches is perfect for cycling around and around before it's time to cool off in the adjacent field's 'fun fountain'.
Camping purists may not love the organised, manicured pitches or the amount of hardstanding and hook-ups here, while the quiet-time at 10pm rule may not appeal to the parry crowd. But if you're a new camper or bringing kids it's the perfect site for getting to grips with this sleeping outdoors malarkey, while exploring the heart of Devon.
