Sea Barn Farm Camping Park, Fleet, Weymouth, Dorset

Sea Barn Farm Camping Park, Fleet, Weymouth, DorsetAs you turn off the main road and head for Sea Barn Farm through narrow, mostly single-track country roads, shaded with tall trees on either side, it feels like a pioneering journey of discovery in forgotten Dorset. And then you find this gorgeous little tenters' campsite, neatly contained by a low stone wall, with the most fantastic panorama as a backdrop. The view of Fleet Lagoon, Lyme Bay, and the Jurassic Coast can be seen from many of the pitches; others have countryside views and some have no view at all, as pitches are arranged across a sequence of small fieldlets with differing outlooks.

In truth, the low-key, undiscovered ambience at Sea Barn Farm is something of an illusion. The site's actually part of a larger operation that includes the adjacent campsite and a touring caravan park. Although they're separate from Sea Barn Farm, guests can use their facilities, which include an outdoor heated swimming pool and a bar and clubhouse. So, it's the best of both worlds at Sea Barn Farm - quiet and peaceful camping, with extra entertainment just next door.
